Xyna is based on the newest cognitions in the organization of modern, adaptable industrial manufacturing. Central idea of the Xyna Factory is to realize the production of services as a factory.
Thereby, the factory organization is based on the basic principles of the fractal factory, a production model developed at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnik und Automatisierung (IPA, Fraunhofer institute of production technology and automation), which is successfully implemented worldwide.
The aim is an order-related, adaptable manufacturing with focus on customer-related business cases like reservation, activation, modification, cancellation and rectification as well as the correspondent operational processes. The integration of manual interactions (Operations) as well as the customer-supplied self administration (Self-Care) play a central role.
The orders are processed in the factory by corresponding business processes which are realized through automated workflows.
The Xyna Factory exists of the following basic elements which are organized in a service-oriented architecture (SOA):
To reduce the complexity of the overall system and to raise the degree of reusability, the factory has a self similar – fractal – structure: By the fact that all components of the Xyna Factory are built up on the same mechanisms and the same superior software-architecture principle central advantages can be realized: Complexity reduction, modularity, system optimization, adaptivity and adaptability.
