Xyna conference on the 11/10/2010 in Wiesbaden
The GIP invited the ITK industry to the 5th Xyna Conference at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden; there they discussed the future of telecommunications and the Internet.

- The annual Xyna conference of the GIP AG is one of the biggest conferences regarding the future of telecommunications and the Internet in Germany.
Will our established understanding of software and computer services change by “Cloud Computing” (the outsourcing of programs, services and data to the Internet) during the next years? Will the mobile Internet change all areas of everyday private and working life trough mobile services of the 4th generation (so-called LTE – Long Term Evolution)? The 5th Xyna conference which takes place on the 10th of November at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden deals with these and many other questions regarding the future of communication and the Internet. The more than 160 expected guests from telecommunications, IT and energy industry were invited by the GIP AG.
On the 5th year of the conference reputed guests of leading companies in the ITK industry could be won once more:
- Oliver Jung, responsible for the Industry & New business division at Vodafone Germany, will report about future client’s uses in the area of Machine-to-Machine-Communication (M2M), thus about the Internet-based interlinking of industrial machines and robots, and also about objects of the everyday life, e.g., cars or intelligent houses (so-called “Smart Homes”).
- Roland Schier from the division IT Solutions Technology & Networks at Deutsche Telekom will speak about the challenges and strategies of the flexible production of IP services, e.g. communication and data services on the basis of the IP protocol.
- Axel Foery, manager of the future segment „Borderless Network architecture“ at Cisco, the world-biggest supplier for telecommunication infrastructure, presents solutions and innovative attempts in the areas Cloud Computing, mobile Computing and Security.
The guest lectures are framed by Dr. Bernd Reifenhaeuser and Dr. Alexander Ebbes, president respectively vice president of the GIP Research Institute, the research and developing lab of the GIP AG. Dr. Reifenhaeuser gives the Keynote of the conference, i.e. he talks about the topic and motivates the guest lectures. Dr. Ebbes discusses the “Internet of energy” and explains the analogies between modern telecommunication nets and smart grids.
Like in both years before the 5th Xyna conference takes place at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden. After the official part of the conference the GIP AG invited the guests to the evening event in the festive decorated conservatory to enjoy buffet and jubilee party.
